Article Writing Guide

article marketing

We all know that creating high quality content can be very time consuming. Endless editing can consume our whole day without any result; leaves us with nothing, except piles of work we have put aside just to do this time-consuming
activity.

Why do we want to do something so useless? Because we all know that we need article marketing as oil for our SEO engine.

Most of us are not able to climb up that big mountain of Google. But with this step by step guide there is a reason for everyone to reach that finish line in a timely manner.

1. Start from the start

“Brainstorm. Create a list of possible topics. Then select a Topic.”

Inspire yourself with the following questions:

- What topics are interesting? – What do I know about that topic? – Do I know enough about that topic?

You can have a lot of ideas or only a few, but make sure to write them all down, because you don’t want to lose your idea. There is no shame in taking notes. It also saves you time as you will be looking for your next topic when you finish this one.

Be strict and choose the most interesting topic. When you have your topic you also might want to think of a title like “7 ways to make money online” or “3 tips to attract more traffic”

TIP: Be sure to stick to your plan, because along the road there will be much more inspiration coming and you don’t want to lose sight of your original idea. TIP: Write new ideas down as possible inspirations for the next topic

2. Be an expert of your chosen topic.

“Seek and thou shalt find”

By now, you most probably have found your expertise. Be sure to know every update on

that topic. There is no other way than to search, read and research until you are a true expert in your field.

TIP: Don’t believe everything you read as you don’t want to give your readers false information.

After when you think you are done. You have to do another research on who your target readers are. Are they beginners or experts just like you?

3. Let the writing begin!

“Know your ABC”

On this point you are ready to start writing the article.

TIP: Adjust the tone of your article to your target readers.

Now just relax, sit back and let your fingers flow. It is better to write everything down than to give in into the endless cycle of editing.Try to organize your thoughts and follow a certain pattern. You can use the following lay out:

- Title

Make this as catchy as you can. This must attract the potential reader to actually click on your title to read it. Make it short, powerful and straight to point. You want to promise the reader something with your title.

TIP: In order for you to organize your article, you can use titles like “3 ways to… ” or “gain… in just one week”

- Introduction

Congratulations! At this point, you caught the attention of your target reader. Your reader is curious about what you have to say. Let them feel that you can relate with their actual thoughts and feelings by understanding their behaviour towards a certain situation, problem, target, product or service. Don’t be scared to have an opinion. Claim that you know best. Promise them that after reading your article they will be able to solve their problem, achieve their target, buy and/or sell their product or service.

- Body

Deliver what you have promised. When your reader reaches this part of your article, they really believe your article will help them out. All you have to do now is meet their expectations!

Use subheadings. This way you can organize your article and deliver what you have promised in your title. Make them as catchy as your title and at the same it must support your title. From the readers point of view it is also very easy to read when you use subheadings. Remember when you were in school and you had to study pages after pages with hundreds of words all thrown together in one page and you just had to force yourself to read all those sentences! it seemed limitless! You don’t want to give your reader that same feeling of forcing someone to read your article. It won’t work!TIP: In order to create loyal, happy readers you must entertain them with your article. Just keep it simple and easy to read without sacrificing any quality.

- Conclusion

In this part of your article you want to summarize your article and remind your readers what the target was of your article. For example: You now know how to… or this article taught you…
Let them know that you have delivered what you have promised and make room for comments. Ask them a question or end with an open ending.

TIP: Perfect way to find out if your readers received your message is when they leave you a positive comment.

4. Hack and Slash

“Time to get brutal”

It is time to proofread, edit, proofread again, rewrite and proofread and edit again. Do these as often as needed until you have the desired result. Check the smallest details of your article as your reader will do the same by reading your article word by word.

TIP: You might want to check your grammar.

Conclusion

When you have created your list of ideas, you should be able to write your articles within the desired deadlines. You also save time when you write articles in the same field as you don’t have to research that much anymore. Keep in mind not to sacrifice the quality of your content because you want to finish up too quickly.

TIP: Practice makes perfect.
